The Human Rights Commission has made it clear that it is collaborating with the competent authorities to follow up and monitor the advertisements promoted by a number of websites in violation of labor laws and regulations. These advertisements have been classified as potential indicators of the occurrence of a trafficking in persons crime, which is criminalized by the laws of the Kingdom, especially the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law.
In its statement, the Commission indicated that the transactions promoted by the advertisements which it had detected are deemed as a form of trafficking in persons.
The Commission strongly warned websites, newspapers and advertising media against publishing such advertisements, confirming that all the necessary measures will be taken in this regard.
The Commission described trafficking in persons as one of the most heinous crimes that violates the rights of human beings, deprives them of their freedom, and destroys their dignity.
